To survive in today's environment, world class manufacturers need to be lean, and very responsive. You can re-schedule, within a few seconds, in response to changes in customer demand, with a planning and scheduling system that tells you what to make, and what to buy.

Make reliable, and achievable delivery promises to your customers, and keep your delivery performance high, whilst keeping your inventory and work-in-progress at a minimum. Anticipate supply chain problems before they happen, and avoid expensive overtime and emergency airfreight bills.

Previously this was possible only by implementing a complex ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), and/or an APS (Advanced Planning and Scheduling) package, costing millions and taking years to implement. But now, more and more companies throughout the world are achieving world class supply chain management with Excel, and help from Production-Scheduling.com

"I thought I knew a lot about Excel, but now I realize I was only using 10% of it's capability, I didn't realize just how powerful it was"

Tony Rice of Production-Scheduling.com develops planning, scheduling, and supply chain management systems in Microsoft Excel, and teaches others how to build their own systems, using APICS and TOC principles. Nearly 100 000 companies have downloaded his world famous Scheduling Tutorial from the website. Building on this success, he has now developed a 2 day, hands-on workshop, aimed at Excel literate people from manufacturing and distribution companies.

Each delegate will receive a CD with the valuable "Supply Chain System Developer's Toolkit" containing the well-structured work shop material, and packed with copies of systems that are being used by a wide variety of manufacturing companies throughout the world. At the conclusion of the workshop each delegate should have the knowledge to select one of the systems, and adapt it for their own manufacturing company. By selecting only the functionality required, and by integrating with existing Excel data sources, implementation and training times can be dramatically less than for an ERP or APS package.

Tony Rice is British, and lives in South Africa. He has over 20 years experience designing and building supply chain management systems, for many hundreds of small to medium sized companies, but also some large ones, including:

  • Toyota
  • Unilever
  • 3M
  • Cadbury
  • Pilkington Glass
  • Motorola
